The Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) is pleased to present a self-matching, self-directed mentorship program that connects teachers new to teaching a second language to experienced colleagues. This pan-Canadian program supports new teachers or teachers new to second language teaching assignments as they survive and thrive in their new roles.
The Mentorship Program strengthens teachers’ second language pedagogical skills and knowledge. More confident and competent teachers can positively impact the second language classroom, enhance the profession, and contribute to improved second language teacher retention.

The Mentorship Program’s flexibility meets the individual needs of volunteer mentees and mentors. Teachers may join at any time during the school year, which ends in June, and they choose and direct their own mentoring relationships.
All participants in the mentorship program must be (or become, prior to initiating their profile) CASLT members and remain a member for the duration of the program. Find out more about CASLT membership.
